Santorini, Jewel of the Aegean Sea
Santorini is the southest island of the Cyclades in the Aegean Sea. It is a complex of islands that consists of Thira – which we call Santorini – Thirasia, Aspronisi and the Old and New Kameni. The island of Santorini features a long, rich and interesting story in wrought with a glorious civilization and several destructions.
The history of the island is not related only to its people. Santorini is standing apart from every other Cycladic island because the land itself is evolving and is self- landscaped. Santorini owes its current shape to the consecutive eruptions of the volcano. These destructions were the ones that made the island so impressively beautiful.
